Bottom line is that if you make yourself available He WILL use you! Currently: I am currently the Bishop (fancy title for General Superintendent) with the Ind. Holiness Church of Canada for the Caribbean. Our main ministries include Haiti and the Dominican Republic where we have numerous churches and preaching stations. We also operate 5 Christian Day Schools in Haiti and hold summer camps both in Haiti and the Dominican Republic. We maintain many of our smaller ministries which include serving as co-pastor at a local Episcopal Church (very evangelical and not US based!), Primary Warden with the U.S. Embassy, director of the International Community Choir of Haiti who's primary ministry is the performance of Handel's "Messiah" which is a classical oratorio with words totally from the Bible. We have a sponsorship program for children across the country, several students from which are now in university, we are building a new school and clinic north of the Capital, etc... Some years ago the Lord called us into ministry which involved Jews. Some years later it all made sense to me when I learned that I have Jewish roots through one of my grandmothers. We are proud to serve Him in the ministry which he has called us to - even though there were some who didn't understand it. He IS faithful and can be trusted - even when we don't always understand the direction in which He is leading - He IS faithful! |
Allan & Anita Chabot-Stahls, 2012
My years at F.G.B. I. were some of the most exciting in my life. If I had to go back and do it all again - I would still choose F.G.B.I. I do not regret having studied at the school and sitting under the ministry of Rev. Dr. & Mrs. Beam, Rev. Heath, Rev. Crisco, Rev. A. Wilson, Rev. Royce and Kathy Roy, Rev. & Mrs. Dutka. The people impacted my life with a permanent love for Bible Holiness. Having studies Tabernacle under Libby Sherman was incredible. The final day of class when we were to have had our final exam, I had forgotten to study thinking it wasn't until later in the week. I scored 100% on that exam - she made the subject come alive to me and jump off the page!
Most Influential People During Bible School:
Rev. Wilson used to drive (while blind in one eye) all the way to Export from Youngstown, Ohio. He was the best Theology teacher I ever knew. He loved the subject and rarely stuck to the pages of the textbook. He taught us that it didn't matter if you could regurgitate what a book said and that he cared that we learned how to think things through, study the Word, and think and pray and come up with our own opinions based on Scripture - not just spit out useless facts and data. Rev. & Mrs. Kurt Haas, taught us how to be kind and loving - even when things could get tough - and they did! Rev. William Hill - I can still remember his message entitled "The Same Gospel Paul Preached" - and it's still true! Rev. Bill Wyatt and Rev. Gene Huff, Brother Claude Elie - all gave me a love for Holiness and the cause of souls that is without limits. |
